Travel Day Through London

March 11, 2019

Leaving LAX-Tom Bradley International Terminal

Breezed into the airport and had a little wait at the internet check in/bag drop off. But after that it was smooth sailing up the escalator to TSA Pre-Check, no line at all.

Spent the next few hours at the Korean Airlines Lounge. Cocktails, soup and tea sandwiches. Relaxed and charged my phone while catching up with the kids after school.

Always nice heading to the gate relaxed, belly full and a cocktail or two. Makes the boarding process tolerable!

Star Wars plane!

The only good thing about sitting in economy class was having no one sitting next to me. So I could spread out easily and anyone who knows me knows I can sleep flat in two seats.

The man two seats over from me got a special meal, to me it smelled like an Indian meal-just like heaven. Immediately I was jealous…

The movie choices were extensive from brand new to classic films, a nice representation of many genres. I chose Mary Queen of Scots while I ate my dinner. I think it was curry chicken and rice but I couldn’t tell…..if I must eat airplane food, I do prefer the choices on the Asian airlines.

I had to go to sleep, I was so tired so off I went for almost 7 hours. I woke up to the sounds of the cabin crew, usually it’s the smell of coffee but I guess tea is the more popular beverage on British Air.

Breakfast was even worse than dinner and the coffee tasted like it was from a hotel room coffeemaker and the choices were turkey or mushroom spinach burritos. I chose the mushroom spinach and it was just shredded potatoes, mushroom paste and a few bits of spinach, no egg but a smear of cream cheese-so I ate the fruit.

After a rough landing in gray and drizzly London Heathrow I headed straight to the airport lounge to refresh and relax. Well I did have to stop in the Harrods store to buy a few things.

It was windy too.

Food was much better!! I had a nice meal, well lunch since it was about 12:30pm in London.

My little cubby was cute and perfect for my 4+ hour layover.

Thankfully I am flying back out of Terminal 5 too so I don’t have to traipse through this huge airport.

My next flight is on British Air again to Bucharest, Romania. The flight is about 3 and a half hours, so not too bad after the 10 and a half.

Look a Concorde!

Goodbye London

The flight was uneventful, food and drinks were available to buy, no in seat entertainment screens, WiFi or plugs. I didn’t mind because I intended to sleep again.

Night cap before my flight, nap time until I arrive in Romania.

Anguilla

November 2014

Regal Princess Cruise

Anguilla is only 3 miles wide and 16 miles long! It is part of the British West Indies and the northernmost of the Leeward Islands. It’s known for its beautiful beaches and proximity to St. Martin, only 6 miles away.

Stunning Shoal Bay!

I’m very happy, this is my kind of beach!

We took the ferry over to Anguilla, a beautiful but tiny island that is very close to St. Martin. Anguilla has one of the nicest beaches I have ever seen and the water is just as beautiful!

Uncle Ernie’s was a great place for lunch right on the beach.

National Conference 2014

Took my mom with me for our conference this year in the Caribbean, excited to see Princess’ newest and much larger ship!

Lay flat business class was so nice, you get there refreshed not tired.

Nice welcome at the port!

It was pouring when we boarded so put a little damper on the sail away festivities but we still had fun and there were some dry times. I had to have one of my favorite Princess desserts, the Grand Marnier Soufflé!

We had a beautiful day at Princess Cays in the Bahamas!

The ship is beautiful and the have a walkway out over the water!

Fun evening with cocktails, classical music in the Piazza and Yahtzee!
